Towards Advancement and Innovation in Aviation Sciences

Bright Star University is excited to announce the inaugural International Aviation Sciences Conference (1ST IASC’ 2025), scheduled for May 14th-15 th, 2025, in Eleberga, Libya, with both in-person and virtual participation options.
The 1ST IASC’ 2025 conference aims to convergence of scientific ideas to foster research and innovation in Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering, as well as in roads and navigation engineering. The conference will create a forum for sharing and exchanging the latest advancement in the field both within Libya and internationally

Accepted and presented papers will be published in a special issue in the Libyan Journal of Engineering Science and Technology

Associate Prof. Mansour Khalifa Hamad Nashad

President of Bright Star University

President of Bright Star University Born in 1976 in Ajdabiya, Libya, Dr. Mansour Khalifa Hamad Nashad is a distinguished academic and higher education leader with 25 years of professional experience. He most recently served as President of Bright Star University in Brega, Libya. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Management from the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management at the University of Sfax, Tunisia. Dr. Nashad currently holds the academic rank of Associate Professor. Between 2017 and 2024, he authored 13 peer-reviewed scientific research papers, making significant contributions to the fields of engineering management and higher education.

Prof. Rahel G. Rahel

Deputy scientific Affairs of Bright Star University Chairperson of the Conference

Experienced academic with a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Energy Engineering (France) and over 25 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership. Has held key positions including Dean, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Head of Department. Widely published in fields such as metal deformation, oil refining, renewable energy, and environmental assessment. Supervised numerous theses and graduation projects in engineering and energy systems. Actively involved in scientific committees and international conferences.

Dr. Abdelgader Agilah Saleh Gheidan

Chairperson of the Conference Scientific Committee

Dr. Abdelgader Agilah Saleh Gheidan is a Libyan mechanical engineer and academic at Bright Star University in El Brega, Libya, since 2018. He earned his Ph.D. from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He has published around 18 scientific papers and received a Best Paper Award at i-CIPEC 2024 in Malaysia. His research focuses on flameless combustion, emission reduction, and energy efficiency in small-scale combustors. He also holds approximately 13 certificates of excellence in peer reviewing paper. In 2025, he was ranked among the top researchers at Bright Star University by the AD Scientific Index.

Dr. Mohammed Ali S Wafi

Dean of faculty of aeronautics Member of the Scientific Committee

Dr. Mohammad is a highly respected academic and professional civil engineer who currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Aviation Sciences and Head of the Department of Runway Design. With extensive experience in both engineering practice and higher education, he has played a pivotal role in developing academic programs, enhancing technical curricula, and promoting excellence in aviation education. Dr. Mohammad has also lectured across a wide range of subjects, contributing significantly to the advancement of civil engineering knowledge within the aviation field and strengthening the academic foundation of the faculty he leads.

Dr. Naser Suliman Alagouri

Director of the Technical Colleges Administration at the Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education. Member of the Scientific Committee

Dr. Naser Suliman Alagouri is a faculty member at the College of Mechanical Engineering Technology in Benghazi, Libya, with over 20 years of experience in mechanical engineering education, research, and leadership. He earned his PhD from the National School of Engineers of Sfax, Tunisia, focusing on machine learning and experimental design for optimizing gear transmission efficiency. His expertise spans heat transfer, solar energy, HVAC systems, and building energy efficiency. Dr. Alagouri has held senior roles, including College Dean and Director at the Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education, and has published widely in international journals and conferences.

Dr. Hamza Alsalla

Keynote Speaker

Commercial pilot since 2005 with an MSc from Sheffield University and a PhD from Exeter University, UK, in aerospace technology. Former lecturer at UK institutions and instructor for Airbus/Rolls-Royce, AEC, Bristol, UK. apprentices. Member of the British Society for Strain Measurement, recipient of the 2021 Young Scientist Award from the european young researcher’s forum. Currently a lecturer in the Civil Aviation College, Sbeah and editor/reviewer for Elsevir publishing group and rapidprototyping journal. Research focuses on aerospace engineering, powder metallurgy, and additive manufacturing.

Mr. Montaser Ali Saeed

I am a dedicated faculty member at Bright Star University with a B.Sc. program in Aerospace Mechanical Engineering. I hold an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on propulsion and engine design. My expertise centres on advanced propulsion systems, aerodynamic optimisation, and the application of intelligent technologies to modern aerospace challenges. I am passionate about driving innovation in next-generation aviation systems and contributing to sustainable aerospace solutions. As International Editor of the 1st IASC 2025 Conference, I am proud to support global academic collaboration and research excellence. With a strong foundation in aerospace mechanics and a forward-thinking approach, I aim to inspire future engineers and advance the frontiers of intelligent aerospace engineering.

Dr. Nader Elgehawe

Dr. Nader Elgehawe is a civil engineer and lecturer at Bright Star University in El Brega, Libya. He holds a Master’s in Engineering Management from the Libyan Academy (2008) and a Master’s and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Akron, USA (2021).

Dr. Ayad Omran Abdalla Alferjani

Ph.D. in Heat Treatment of Titanium Alloys from UTM University Malaysia (2018) Master’s degree in Materials Engineering from USM Malaysia (2006) Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science & Engineering at Al-Fateh University, Tripoli (1990).
